Quitman, GA - Pre-K students put on a graduation show Thursday for the end of the year at Quitman Elementary School. 4 year old graduate Jeremiah Edwards was in the show.
But waiting in the back was a very special guest: Army Private Tamika Edwards. Private Edwards is Jeremiah's mother who has been deployed in Afghanistan for the past ten months... Except she didn't tell him she was coming home.
"I can't stop smiling. I'm super excited to the point where I could just cry. Because I'm so happy. I'm just glad to be home," said Private Tamika Edwards.
Private Edwards stepped out into the gym for the moment of truth. Jeremiah ran into her arms. Private Edwards was overwhelmed to tears.
A mother and son were reunited before a crowd of family and friends.
