Local Mother Still Searching For Her Child 5 Years After Disappearance

It's been five years since Brandi Cole went missing from a local park, never to be seen again. After years of searching, her mother is still looking for answers.

"I miss her," said Shellie Auchtung, Cole's mother. "I want her back. I want what's left of her back. I want some place me and her baby can go lay a flower on her birthday,"

According to reports, 17-year-old Cole was last seen on July 7th 2007, getting into a white four door truck along Puckett Park, in South Tifton.

Auchtung says over the years she has received little help from law enforcement, but she continues to search on her own, everyday.

"I can't get that out of my mind," said Auchtung. "My child expects me to go get her and I can't let it go."

Auchtung isn't looking for justice. She just wants closure.

"I'm not going to quit. I'm not looking to put nobody in jail or anything. I don't care about all that. I just want a location. Just give me a location. Let me bring her home right."

No matter how much time passes, a mother's pain still runs deep.

"I still don't know what to do," she said. "If someone can tell me how to quit missing. I try to quit missing, but I just cant."

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is asking anyone with information on Brandi's whereabouts to please call 1-800-THE-LOST or the Tift County Sheriff's office at 229-388-6021.
