Associated Press Release
ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities in southwest Georgia say a man on a motorcycle led a sheriff's deputy on a chase for several miles before the fleeing cyclist lost control and crashed.
WALB-TV reports a deputy in Terrell County tried to pull over the motorcycle rider late Friday after clocking his bike at 80 mph on Highway 82 near Sasser. Authorities say the rider decided to try to outrun the deputy rather than pull over.
The cyclist fled to Albany, about 16 miles away, when he lost control and crashed at the intersection of Dawson and Whispering Pines Roads.
Authorities say the rider was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threating. The injured cyclist's name was not immediately released
