North Florida Community College’s July 2012 Practical Nursing graduates achieved, on their first attempt, a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Although NFCC’s Allied Health graduates traditionally post NCLEX pass rates consistent with or above the National average, having an entire class achieve a 100% pass rate on their first try is quite an achievement. According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, the 2012 NCLEX-PN national pass rate for first time test takers is currently 84.9%.
“We are confident these new LPNs are equipped to care for our community and will make an extraordinary impact on healthcare,” said Julie Townsend, NFCC Director of Allied Health.
NFCC Practical Nursing graduates last achieved a 100% first attempt pass rate in 2010. NFCC’s 2011 Registered Nursing graduates made history in 2012 by becoming NFCC’s first RN class to achieve, on their first attempt, a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The NCLEX exam is a required step in a graduate’s career in healthcare. Achievement of a passing score on the exam and licensure by the Florida State Board of Nursing enables graduates to seek employment in the state of Florida.
NFCC Allied Health programs prepare students for a variety of jobs in the healthcare system. NFCC students have access to the latest technology and training equipment and receive hands-on training at area hospitals and healthcare facilities.
