National Girl Scout Cookie Day!

Thin mints, Tag-A-Longs, Samoas...if those names are familiar to you, you probably are a fan of girl scout cookies.

February 8th is the time to celebrate that love because it is National Girl Scout cookie day! The girl scouts have been selling the tasty treats since 1917 and the proceeds help fund the local troops and their community projects. Tallahassee Girl Scout Sara Bibby has been a scout for nine years and counting and told WCTV about the life skills that the group teaches young girls.

"We learn the 5 essential skills. Business ethics, money management, goal setting, decision making, and people skills," said Bibby.

The cookies arrive locally on February 16th and everyone in our area can keep an eye out for booths in the community to go up on February 22nd.
