August 13, 2014
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Representative Steve Southerland, as a show of his Support for Community Health Centers and in honor of National Health Center Week, will visit Bond Community Health Center for a tour of the facility on Wednesday, August 13. Rep. Southerland will tour all facets of Bond’s Gadsden street facility including the mobile
unit and will travel to one of the off-site facilities.
“We are very pleased and proud to have Congressman Southerland come out and visit our Community Health Center during National Health Center Week. It will give us the opportunity to showcase Bond and the level of quality service that we provide to our patients,” said Bond Board Chairman Antonio Jefferson. National Health Center Week is August 10-16 and it recognizes that for more than 45 years, community health centers have delivered comprehensive, high-quality preventive and primary health care to patients regardless of their ability to pay. During that time, community health centers have become the essential primary care medical home for millions of Americans, including some of the nation’s most vulnerable populations.
Bond CHC and Health Centers around the country continue to be a cost-effective investment in primary and preventive health care for our nation. Studies have consistently demonstrated Health Centers provide substantial savings to the entire health system by keeping patients out of costlier health care settings. Bond Community Health Center will continue to provide services to support the needs of the community and is proud to
participate in National Health Center Week.
Since 1984, Bond Community Health Center, Inc. has been on a mission to reach people throughout North Florida. In 2013 Bond provided comprehensive primary and preventive medical and dental healthcare to 44,789 patient visitors, and currently serves residents of Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, Jefferson, Liberty Taylor, Franklin, and Madison counties.
