Bainbridge, GA- A tip from a caller led Bainbridge Public Safety Officers to 'America's Best Value Inn' along Shotwell Street. Inside, they discovered nearly three pounds of marijuana between two motel rooms.

"We recovered approximately, almost two pounds of marijuana out of room 122," said Major Robert Humphrey with Bainbridge Public Safety. "When we searched room 100, we recovered a firearm and also a jar that had marijuana in it, along with scales and other things to solicit the sale and distribution of marijuana."

Investigators say they watched 25-year-old Jasper Hatten and 20-year-old Desmond Wright, Jr. pull their car into the motel parking lot, go into a room and leave minutes later.

"One of them had approximately three ounces of marijuana on him. Another one had probably an ounce and they had another bag containing nine zip lock bags with marijuana in it; also seized about 560 dollars in cash from one individual," said Major Humphrey.

Later that day, investigators saw another car pull into the motel and go into the same room. That's when they made their move, arresting 23-year-old Andrecas Harris, 25-year-old Shannon Madge and 19 -year-old Philip Kinder.

Investigators say the men purposely requested rooms that were located on the backside of the motel, farthest away from the front desk. Investigators say the employees at the motel had no idea what was going on behind closed doors.

Investigators are still looking for 27-year-old Rashad James who fled the scene.

All five men arrested were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
