News Release: Leadership Tallahassee
TALLAHASSEE – Leadership Tallahassee, the region’s premier leadership organization since 1983, launched the region’s first-ever board-matching website this week. LeaderBoard will transform the way that non-profits identify and select volunteers interested in serving as a board member by ensuring that local nonprofit boards have access to Tallahassee’s trained, engaged and diverse community leaders. Registered organizations will have the ability to review the skills and interests of potential board members. Leadership Tallahassee is an affiliate program of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
“With so many non-profits in need of experienced and passionate volunteers to support their mission, we are confident in the impact that LeaderBoard will have in matching committee vacancies with community leaders interested in giving back and getting involved at a higher level,” said Barbara Boone, Executive Director of Leadership Tallahassee. “We encourage local non-profits and interested volunteers to register their profile today.”
LeaderBoard allows organizations to look beyond their immediate circle, thereby diversifying and elevating their board of directors and committees. Local nonprofit organizations can choose board members by browsing Leadership Profiles made by local leaders. Many of these community leaders are Leadership Tallahassee graduates, have participated in board service training through Building Better Boards, or have previous board experience. A link to the LeaderBoard program can be found on the home page of the Leadershiptallahassee.com website.
Individuals who are ready to serve can create their own Leadership Profile on the LeaderBoard site. Their profile will include:
