Cairo, GA - "It's frightening, it's kind of scary," said Christina Pyles.
Pyles is talking about the incident that took place last Wednesday outside of her home on 9Th Avenue in Cairo. She told us that's where 21-year-old Walter Juan-Francisco was hit and killed by a car. Police said the incident happen at approximately 2:00AM and at that time Pyles said she didn't know what had occurred.
"We heard something outside, but it was really early in the morning and when we had gotten up everything was cleared out. Later in the day is when we found out that somebody had actually passed away," said Pyles.
According to the police report witnesses saw Juan-Francisco in the road, but that they did not see him get hit by a car.
"His body was sent to the crime lab for an autopsy and we're waiting the results of that. Tentatively they've indicated it was blunt force trauma," said Investigator Dewayne Pearson, Cairo Police Department.
Police told us at this point they don't have any strong leads in the case and that they're asking for the community's help in solving the case.
