Officials with the Barack Obama campaign opened up a new office today.

At the headquarters, located on 541 North Monroe street, they hosted an event to celebrate the opening.

State Representative Alan Williams spoke and says he hopes to get the word out for the Obama re-election campaign.

Officials say this office will be a hub of activity for the Tallahassee area. It will also serve as the regional headquarters for now.

"We're here to get everybody together," said Team Leader Johanna Cervone.

"To get the word out that we're here and get volunteers going and get them to commit."

Team Leader Bruce Ballister said, "We need to get democratic representation up in the house and senate so he [President Obama] can be a more effective president. Most of his agenda has been stymied."

"I just want to be able to express how much it means to see all of these people out here, said another team leader," Mayet Aldanna.

"These are people who are taking time from their everyday lives to come out and support a man who has supported them throughout this presidency."

The event today went on from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Tallahassee headquarters will serve as a resource center for volunteers and staff members.

@M (In the voice of Foghorn Leghorn) It's a joke son, a joke, get it, it's a joke. However, since you threw down the gauntlet, I looked it up and found this, "Beer, wine, and liqueurs can be purchased in retail stores, grocery, and convenient stores in Florida. Spirits are available in retail package stores. Bars and restaurants stop serving alcohol between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. ACOHOL IS NOT SOLD ON SUNDAY, although a few counties are licensed to sell alcohol seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
