Police: Quincy Woman Arrested Attempting To Sneak Drugs To Inmate

The Gadsden County Drug Task Force arrested 41 year old Mechelle Rena Robinson of Quincy, Florida on two counts of conspiracy to introduce contraband into a correctional facility and possession of cannabis with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a business or place of worship this evening.

Robinson, who was arrested a little over two months ago by Gadsden County deputies and was out on bail at the time of arrest for the previous introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, was arrested again today following leads developed by the Gadsden County Drug Task Force. A Gadsden County K-9 Unit was called in and gave a positive alert on Robinsons’ vehicle that was parked behind the courthouse.

Robinson was taken into custody and transported to the Gadsden County Jail She was not able to pass of any of the narcotics to the inmate and all of the narcotics that were said to be present was recovered from her vehicle.

Sheriff Young stated, “ Introduction of contraband will not be tolerated in the Gadsden County Jail and that we will aggressively investigate and arrest anyone who brings contraband into our facility. This investigation is ongoing and we expect several more arrest from this investigation later this week. “
