One Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Sheriff Chris Prine has released the following:

On Tuesday evening around 9:15 a deputy of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 1999 Cadillac Deville on West Main Street in Hahira for a window tint violation. The deputy identified the driver as Alvin Latron Gamble and noticed that he was unusually nervous.

The deputy also learned that Gamble’s driver license had been suspended and was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license.

A canine search of the vehicle was performed and after an alert by the drug detecting canine a hand search of the vehicle was performed during which approximately one {1} pound of marijuana was found in the trunk. Approximately $900.00 cash was also located inside the car. Both the cash and the marijuana were seized.

Alvin Gamble was transported to the Lowndes County Jail where he has remained. He will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court for an arraignment hearing this afternoon where a bond will be considered.
