Live Oak, Fla. -- One man is dead following a collision yesterday evening in Live Oak, FL.
At approximately 7:25 p.m. yesterday evening, Anthony J. Crump, 53, of Live Oak, FL was traveling south on US 129 in a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500.
Rosalynn M. Griffith, 29, of Gainesville, FL, was also traveling south on US 129 in a 2001 Dodge Neon.
Crump closed in from behind on a slower traveling Griffith causing Griffith to take evasive action by steering to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision.
The Ram damaged its right front when it struck the left rear of the Neon in the southbound lane.
The Ram then traveled in a southeasterly direction onto the east
shoulder striking a tree with its front. After this impact, the Ram rotated in a counter clockwise direction coming to final rest on the east shoulder of US 129 facing in a southeasterly direction.
After the Neon was struck by the Ram, the Neon traveled in a southwesterly direction onto the west shoulder of US 129 where it came to rest facing in a southwesterly direction.
Crump was airlifted to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida for medical treatment, where he was pronounced deceased today, March 5, 2013.
