Florida Highway Patrol Release [UPDATE]
Jefferson County, FL - The Next of Kin has been notified by Georgia Authorities and a name has been released of the man killed in the Jefferson County collision.
Michael L. Lewis, 77, of Baxley, GA was the driver of the 2005 GMC Savannah that was killed in the crash this afternoon.

A driver (still pending name) of Baxley, GA was traveling eastbound on US Highway 27 in the left travel lane in a 2005 GMC Savannah.
Ivan Welch, 62, of Lamont, FL, was traveling eastbound on US Highway 27 in the left lane in a 1999 Dodge Ram, directly in front of the Savannah.
The GMC was traveling at a higher speed than the Ram, approaching the Ram from the rear, when the front bumper of the GMC collided with the Ram's rear bumper.
The GMC then veered to the right where it traveled in a southeasterly direction across the south shoulder and through a ditch.
The GMC's front bumper collided with a tree on the south shoulder before coming to final rest facing in an easterly direction.
The Ram overturned onto its right side and came to final rest across both eastbound travel lanes facing in a northeasterly direction.
The driver of the GMC was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries.
Mr. Welch sustained minor injuries.
Next of Kin notification for Driver 1 has not been completed.
At least one person has been killed in an accident in Jefferson County.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are still on scene.
The accident happened around 2:30 this Monday afternoon at E. Capps Highway and Fallow Drive in Lamont.
The crash is also blocking southbound traffic at that intersection.
