Tallahassee FL- Consider yourself lucky if you get a chance to spend Christmas with family and friends. Unfortunately, many won't have that opportunity.A Tallahassee lady is providing hundreds of meals on Christmas Day to help those in need.
Every year Annie Johnson of Project Annie in Tallahassee prepares a meal for about four hundred people.
This year is her 16th year supplying those in need with a plate full of her delicious Christmas Dinner.
Tuesday she prepares all of those sweet potato pies and with help her team of volunteers are able to get everything ready from the silver ware to the collard greens.
"When your helping somebody you are helping yourself, you're helping everybody," explained one of Project Annie's volunteers.
As Annie Johnson, the Founder of Project Annie Inc. explains, "There is somebody out there that goes through the cracks and don't get anything. So if they come to get something to eat then they can get a little token of Christmas too."
The food is being served at Project Annie off fourth street from eleven to two in Tallahassee, but the giving doesn't stop with dinner.
"When the kids come through line I have a little token for them a present and I give it out when they come and get their lunch," said Johnson.
She hopes with the donations she's received she will have enough presents for all the children on Christmas Day. Either way she knows no one will be leaving empty handed.
"No I don't consider myself an angel...Im just one of God's Servants, " ended Johnson.
