PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. (AP) -- Police say a pilot has been hospitalized after a plane crash at the Atlanta Regional Airport.

Peachtree City police Lt. Mark Brown says a 64-year-old Fayetteville man was flying his Piper Lightsport when it crashed Sunday morning at the regional airport, also known as Falcon Field.

Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration say the aircraft crashed off the end of the runway and federal authorities are investigating.

Brown says the man was airlifted to the Atlanta Medical Center and is listed in serious condition.
