Man Arrested For 31 Burglaries

On 11/3/13 at approximately 2:51pm, while responding to a burglary alarm, Tallahassee Police Investigators were conducting surveillance and observed the suspect vehicle headed east on Mahan Dr. Investigators followed the suspect in unmarked vehicles and called in additional marked patrol vehicles to stop the suspect.

A traffic stop was initiated by a marked unit and the driver matched the description of a serial burglar, later identified as Mr. Harris. Mr. Harris was taken into custody and transported to the Tallahassee Police Department.

Mr. Harris was on probation for burglary until 2015. A search warrant was served at his house at 2765 W Tharpe St # 116 and Mr. Harris’ vehicle.

The searches led to the discovery of stolen property which was returned to the victims. Mr. Harris has been arrested for 31 Burglaries and charged as below.

Criminal Mischief (31 Counts)
Petit Theft (6 Counts)

Police have arrested a man who they believe is responsible for a string of local burglaries.

56-year-old Earnest Harris was arrested yesterday, November 3,2013, after a search warrant of his apartment turned up missing items from PSBI, a local construction company.

Police say Harris has a lengthy history of burglary which dates back to 1990, and includes about 15 charges.

Harris is accused of Burglary Of Structure Conveyance, Grand Theft, And Damage To Property.

Police say further charges are pending.
