Police say a man took off when they tried to pull him over for a routine traffic stop, causing a multiple car crash, sending himself and others to the hospital.
"Just the thought, 'What just happened?'" said Dina Franklin.
It was a normal night for Franklin, driving her white Honda van until her trip was cut short. She says a man ran a red light at High Road and Tharpe Street, striking her vehicle.
"I didn't push the brakes; it was so fast, the car just happened to come out of nowhere," Franklin said.
Banged up cars and debris were scattered on the road for hours. In all, five vehicles were involved.
Franklin said it was all a blur; she was driving south on High. That's when she said this blue car ran the red light at Tharpe and struck the front of her van.
Tallahassee police say it started as a routine traffic stop on this blue Altima a little after 5:30 pm. They say the driver took off from police, causing the accident shortly after.
"I was just crying, I was in shock, I didn't know what to do," says Jaferia Evans. Her boyfriend was the driver.
"This is my first time seeing this happen to somebody that I care about so it's like really scary," continues Evans.
TPD says the suspect and victims did not receive life threatening injuries. Franklin, whose birthday is on New Year's Day, is thankful to be okay.
"It was a gift that I am still alive, that's my birthday gift for myself."
Police have not yet released the name of the suspect who they say caused the accident.

At least four vehicles including a Leon County Sheriff's Office patrol car were involved in a car crash on the corner of High Road and Tharpe Street in Tallahassee, FL just after 5 pm this New Year's Eve.
Traffic is currently flowing smoothly on High Road, but westbound lanes on Tharpe Street have been blocked off.
A car chase on Tharpe Street proceeded the accident. One woman involved in the crash said she was driving south on High Road when a light blue Altima clipped her car while running through a red light.
Very few details on the chase and crash are available at this time.
