Police Converge on Local School, Student Leaves in Handcuffs

Tallahassee, FL -The Leon County Sheriff's Office says the incident at Capital City High School this morning was a "disturbance between students." An LCSO spokesperson says as the disturbance was being broken up, a student was arrested for shoving a deputy.

The U.S. Marshals were on the scene. LCSO says the marshals were there as backup.

The name of the student has not been released.

A call to the school's support center has not been returned.


Tallahassee, FL - Just before noon, Leon County Sheriff's deputies swarmed Capital City High School, a public charter school in Tallahassee, located on Adams Street . Bystanders report that it appeared to be a huge fight. Bystanders also report that what looked to be around 200 people were outside the school as the incident was being investigated. One girl was handcuffed and placed in a Leon County's Sheriff's deputy's car.
