Gunshot Victim Arrested For Outstanding Warrants [PROBABLE CAUSE ATTACHED]

According to the Tallahassee Police Department

Herbert Newby was the identified victim in the shooting which occurred last night at approximately 9 p.m. in the area of 1700 Joe Luis Street.

Mr. Newby received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm and was treated at a local hospital before being transported to the Leon County Jail for processing.

The investigation into the cause of the shooting is on-going and TPD is asking anyone with information about the case to call (850) 891-4200.


Tallahassee, FL - At around 8:59 tonight, police were called to the 1700 block of Joe Louis St. in reference to a shooting.

The male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, and has been taken to the hospital.

The suspect is at large.

A Pontiac at Monroe and 4th Ave. is believed to be related.

Forensics is heading to the scene at 4th Avenue.

There is a heavy police presence on Joe Louis Street and on 4th Avenue.
