The following is a media release from the Tallahassee Police Department:
Shortly after 10:00am this morning, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to 1699 Northwest Capital Circle, the Shell Gas Station, in reference to an attempted armed robbery.
The initial investigation revealed that an employee was leaving the store and walking to his vehicle when an unknown suspect approached him and demanded money.
During the attempted robbery, a firearm was displayed at the victim. The victim was shot during the incident and transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The victims identity is not being released at this time due to the investigation being active and on-going. The suspect was described as short it stature unknown gender or race wearing all dark clothing and a dark colored mask.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and was not located. Anyone who has information on this incident is asked to call the Tallahassee Police Department at 891-4200.

A gas station employee is recovering this morning after a man tried to rob them.
The Tallahassee Police Department says an employee was walking to their car in the parking lot of the Shell Gas station at 1699 Capital Circle NW, when someone tried to rob them.
During the attempted robbery, police say that suspect fired shots and injured the employee.
That person was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Police expect the employee to survive.
The man was wearing a mask during the crime and police do not have a vehicle description at this time.
Police say the suspect didn't get away with any belongings or money.
No criminal activity occurred inside the store.
