Roswell police say they've found two bodies during their search for a missing 4-year-old boy and his father.

Roswell police Officer Lisa Holland says the bodies of a male and a child were found shortly after 10 a.m. Friday in a wooded area, about a half-mile from his apartment in the Atlanta suburb.

Police had issued a child abduction alert early Friday morning and began searching for Jesus Dominguez when officers found his mother Thursday afternoon, severely beaten and unconscious in the apartment on Old Holcomb Bridge Way. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Holland tells The Associated Press that police believe the bodies are that of the child and father, but are awaiting positive identification from the medical examiner. Police are treating the case as a murder-suicide.
