Looking for Love, One Local Man is Beaten and Robbed at Red Roof Inn
Tallahassee, Florida- July 18, 2012
Two women and a man are behind bars after police say they used Craigslist to lure a man to a motel and rob him.
Deondra Donley, Darlene Prescott and Brandon Potter are facing a slew of charges including attempted murder because of the crime.
Police say a man saw an ad on Craigslist promoting the services of a woman named 'Delilah.' who police later identified as Prescott.
Investigators say the man began texting Prescott and he was told to meet her at the Red Roof Inn off North Monroe Street inside of room 216 just after midnight on July 14.
After entering the room, police say the man was attacked by two black men and Donley. One of the men who had attacked him was identified as Potter. The other man remains unidentified.
Police say as the man fought back and tried to escape, he was shot twice in the leg. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
Police say the four suspects fled in a car driven by Donley. Three of them were picked up and arrested a few days later.
Both Potter and Donley made their first court appearance Wednesday July 18. Potter is being held without bond. Police are still looking for the unknown man who attacked the victim.
