Campbellton, FL -- May 10, 2012 --

The United Postal Service came up with a new way to save money by changing the operating hours in some of their smaller stores.

This is good news for towns like Campbellton that depend on post office services for more than just mail. "We don't have a bank here, so you get the money order from the post office. There's a lot of things we use the post office for" said Campbellton resident, Mary H. Gray.

But more than convenience, Gray explained that the post office was an essential part of the community- one hit hard by the recession.
"A lot of people around here are on fixed incomes and don't have transportation to go to Graceville" she said.

Changing the hours of operation was a welcomed exchange for what the outcome could have been. So far, operating hours are the only thing slated to change. Zip codes, post office names and access to P.O Boxes will remain the same.
