Thomasville, GA - A previous employee of a local church is believed to be the person responsible for its recent breaking and entering.
Thomas County Sheriff deputies charged 33-year-old Timothy Edwards for burglarizing the New Covenant Church in Thomasville.
Investigators say it happened between Friday and Saturday morning, and more than $300 in cash and several personal checks were stolen.
Investigators say because there was no forced entry, they believed a suspect was someone who had access to a key.
That led them to Edwards, who used to work at the church. The checks and a church key were later recovered.
