Quincy Police Department Investigating Shooting Incident

Quincy, FL - The Quincy Police Department responded to reports of a shooting incident today at 10:28AM at an area business. QPD Officers responded to 403 W. Jefferson Street, Barkley’s Car Wash, in reference to the owner of the car wash being shot at by another man armed with a firearm.

Upon arrival police located the victim, Mr. Travis Barkley, who advised police the following:

The suspect, Jerrell Quinshun Richardson, 23, of Quincy drove to the car wash and engaged Barkley in a discussion about a female friend of Richardson’s which resulted in a physical altercation.

At some point during the altercation Barkley began to run away from Richardson through the interior of the car wash building. Barkley jumped through a plate glass window while attempting to escape Richardson who had armed himself with a firearm and was chasing Barkley.

At some point Richardson fired several shots at Barkley with the firearm before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
