Valdosta, GA -
Cadets from Valdosta State University's Air Force ROTC program raised awarness today for fallen soldiers.
They took part in the third annual Bataan Memorial Death March. Participants walked more than twenty miles. It was in remembrance of the thousands of soliders who were captured in the philippines during world war two.
Warren Youmans is an ROTC cadet who marched. He said "the japenese forced American and filipino soldiers to march eighty miles in the hot sun to camp Oddonell. And thousands of Americans and filipinos died on the way. It's often forgotten. It was right after pearl harbor. And we're just bringing awareness for them. And POW and MIA awareness."
The first ever Bataan Memorial Death March was first organized in New Mexico in 1989.
