Railroad Square Property To Be 'Business Incubator'

Tallahassee, FL - Small businesses will soon be getting a little help from Florida's Capital City and County.

This property on Railroad Avenue near Gaines Street in Tallahassee will soon be devoted to serving and grooming local start up businesses. Leon County and the city of Tallahassee partnered with the Economic Development Council to tour business incubators around the state for ideas on how to start one in our area.

James Miller, Economic Development Council: "checked out five different incubators, saw what worked, saw what didn't, and taking both the good and bad from those five areas, bringing them back, coming up with a report that should be available in the fall that will implement those ideas here in Tallahassee."

The EDC toured facilities in Gainesville, Sarasota, Tampa, Pasco County and Orlando. Tallahassee's facility is looking at a late 2013 or early 2014 opening.
