Tallahassee, FL - January 19, 2013
The rally in front of the Florida Capitol is one of many protest on Gun Appreciation Day across the nation to fight for the right-to-bear-arms.
"Simply here saying the Second Amendment should not be walked all over cause that just simply means that if the Second Amendment goes, all the other rights we have will go with it," said Thomas Payne, Florida Capitol Rally Organizer.
The protest comes days after the President's new goals for gun control.
"It is like he is going to bypass the whole reason we offered to die for." Said Joe West, a Vietnam War Veteran. "The only way you stop a bad person or a crazy person with a gun is a good non-crazy person with a gun."
President Obama's hope is to reinstate the assault weapons ban and limit the number of bullets in high capacity magazines to ten.
"I don't have my gun to go hunting, I have my gun so that I can defend myself and my family," said West.
Even with Citizens against the new gun control proposal, activists can agree on one thing.
"It's a tragic thing and something does need to be done, but the moment he went into that school with a firearm, he disobeyed the law that is what criminals do, making more gun laws is not going to stop a criminal from doing that," a Rally Member at the Florida Capitol.
