Read United Delivers 4400 Books in 5 Days

Press Release: United Way of the Big Bend

This is our third year of the READ UNITED program. At the end of this week we will have given out 4,400 books to over 300 classrooms in 8 counties over five days. To date, that is over 13,000 books to the first graders in the Big Bend.

Attached is the school schedule. Please note, this is only the LEON County schedule. We are also reading in Taylor, Wakulla, Liberty, Gadsden, Madison, Jefferson and Franklin counties this week as well.

FSU and FAMA football players will be reading Tuesday and Wednesday (James Wilder, Jr. AJ Graham, Brandon Denmark & Rashad Green) Radio Host, Jason Taylor will read on Thursday at Roberts Elementary School, and Mayor Marks and his wife will read on Friday to Hawks Rise Elementary school at 9am. Commissioner Gillum will also read on Friday at Astoria Park Elementary school.
