Recap of Leon County Races

Tallahassee, FL - Some races were a run-away; others came down just a handful of votes.

They've had long months for many of these candidates, and certainly a long day as they waited for the outcome of the election today. But in the end, there was only one winner.

In the hotly contested race for Tallahassee City commission, seat one, Scott Maddox beat out Steve Stewart 62 to 38 percent.

But the race was much closer when it came to the county commission. In the commissioner at large, seat one, Mary Ann Lindley beat out Akin Akinyemi, garnering 52 percent of the vote. So she will be the new Leon County Commissioner at large.

And Willie Meggs squeaked out a win for State Attorney in the Second Judicial court, grabbing 51 percent of the vote to Pete Williams 49 percent.

We've covered a lot of ground today, with election results for races all across north Florida and South Georgia.
