The south Georgia chapter of the Red Cross will hold its annual meeting tonight to discuss the highs and lows of the past year.
Executive Director of the American Red Cross South Georgia Chapter,Terri Jenkins says it's been a very busy year for the chapter. She says tonight is about recognizing their most important events, disaster relief, and their volunteers. Without them Jenkins says they couldn't do half of what they do for the people in south Georgia.
Jenkins said, "All the volunteers are special, but there is a few that have stood out this year; that have gone above and beyond, and have taken steps to become trained in disaster training and CPR training. They are just available everytime the phone rings. They're there saying 'yes, I'll gladly do what you need'."
The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Drury Inn in Valdosta. If you'd like some more information about The Red Cross in South Georgia visit This LINK.
