The American Red Cross needs help to make Christmas special for those in need.
The Capital Area chapter launched it's holiday giving campaign. It outlines ways people can give a helping hand these holidays.
They say people can donate money, blankets for disaster shelters or volunteer their time.
"We are the disaster people and we hope people will step forward and help us because we will respond to three to five local disasters a week," said Dan Samborn, CEO of the Capital Area chapter.
