Residents in Gadsden County are getting a good workout around the track for a good cause.
Today marks the annual Relay for Life event held at the MLK Track in Quincy. Hundreds of people will be walking until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning. Dozens of survivors wearing purple shirts were honored this evening.
Many we spoke with tell us they're just grateful for the amount of community support.
"To see that people that don't even know you clap when you walk by and come up and wish you well and are willing to save money and attend this event even nickels dimes quarters just to do what they can to be a part of a cure," said cancer survivor Sandra Vernon.
Relay for Life has spread to more than 6,100 communities in the U.S. and takes place in more than 20 countries around the world.
