Report: Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Pickup

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Live Oak, Fla. according to a report in the Suwannee Democrat.

The man was walking on Ohio Avenue North a little after noon on Saturday when he was struck by a pickup truck while on the northbound lane. According to the report, the pedestrian was taken by life flight to Shands Hospital in Gainsville where he later died of his injuries.

The man's identity has not been released by law enforcement officials. According to an official in the report, officials smelled alcohol on the man. The driver is not considered at fault.

WCTV made phone calls to the Live Oak police department but were not answered. The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office said to call back regarding this case at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning.
