Tallahassee, FL - A new report shows crashes at red light camera intersections in Florida are decreasing.

This comes after a state representative filed legislation Friday 1repeal the use of the cameras

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles compiled the report using data collected from Hillsborough County, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

But some drivers say the cameras do more harm than good.

"If you're coming down the road and the light turns yellow , like right before you're about to go under it and some how you can't slow down fast enough and you slam on your brakes or you run through it you either risk getting rear-ended or running a red light and getting a ticket," says Wade McGarvey, a Tallahassee resident.

The data was collected between July 2011 and June 2012
