Gulf Coast AMTRAK Passenger Rail Service Restoration Release
TALLAHASSEE, FL - On Thursday, December 13, local elected officials and community leaders will gather at City Hall to discuss the next steps in the effort to restore passenger rail service to Tallahassee and the Gulf Coast. The meeting will be open to the public and all interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
In addition, there will be a presentation by John Robert Smith, President and CEO of Reconnecting America, a national non-profit devoted to transit research and advocacy. John Robert Smith is a former four-term mayor of the City of Meridian, Mississippi, as well as the former Chairman of the Board of Amtrak.
