Folks in one Florida county enjoy a day at the races.
Almost 100 horses and riders took part in barrel races at the first ever Running For Paws event. The races took part at the Evil Twin Farms in Lamont. All of the proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Humane Society.
Riders of all ages were competing, including a woman in her 80's. Organizers say it took just 40 days to plan the competition.
"We had a lot of good volunteers and a lot of help and a lot of people that are involved in the barrel racing community," said barrel racer Patrice Richert.
"'After you go around one barrel, you're hooked on 'em," laughed Faye Endicott.
Charlie Davis, famed exercise rider for the horse Secretariat also attended and signed autographs.
