Tallahassee, FL - Community members have the opportunity to support FAMU scholarships while honoring two Tallahassee attorneys.
The 2014 honorees of FAMU Alumni Association's Annual Roast and Toast were Daryl Parks and Benjamin Crump.
Both men, who are hailed as the dynamic dual civil rights attorneys, were escorted by FAMU Marching 100 drum majors at Friday night's event at the Leon County Civic Center.
Proceeds will be used for scholarships and annual band and football camps.
Parks says, "I'm very happy to be honored. As most folks know, Ben and I give our all to try to do everything that we can do to help FAMU and we feel very strongly about that."
Last year, more than $15,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving Leon County students. The chairman says the roast and toast has raised more than $100,000 over the ten years of the annual event.
