Jane Sauls won her fifth term as Leon County Commissioner for District 2 Tuesday.

Sauls defeated Kirk Headley-Perdue. Sauls received more than 9200 votes. She won 55 percent of the vote to Headley-Perdue's 45 percent.

Sauls has served as the commissioner for District 2 since 1996.

Sauls says she is eying several big projects for District 2 including the expansion of Capital Circle Northwest.

"We had a groundbreaking a couple of weeks ago for this section of Capital Circle. It's going to be beautiful. It's going to be like the other sections around the Capital. We're looking forward to that. And we are fixing to start resurfacing Highway 20 the first of the year," says Sauls.

Sauls says she and her campaign are working the rest of the day to remove her political signs.

As for Headley-Perdue, she says she is proud of her campaign and hopes Sauls represents the people of District 2 with a strong and active voice.
