Tallahassee, FL - On Friday, October 12, 2012 from 11a.m.-1p.m., America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend will open its doors for an Open House celebration to give thanks to the community for 30 years of support in the fight against hunger! Lunch will be provided compliments of Publix Apron's Cooking School.
Guests will be able to take a self-guided tour of our warehouse and ask questions of staff and our Board of Directors along the way. In addition, a short program at 11:30 will include guests speaking about our past, present and our future.
America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend was founded in 1982 and continues 30 years later fighting hunger throughout the Big Bend region of Florida. We have distributed more than 64 million pounds since 1982 (more than 53 million meals) to residents struggling with hunger. On Friday, we take this opportunity to say "Thank You" to the community for 30 years of support!
