ATLANTA (AP) -- A security guard who was seriously wounded during a gunman's rampage at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw faces an 18th surgery.
Christopher Sparkman was shot in the chest by a shotgun on April 29.
His family says Sparkman will likely be in the hospital for another month. He may be unable to eat solid foods until Christmas because of his internal injuries.
It was reported that Sparkman's family has asked for privacy, but they are grateful for supporters' prayers and messages of comfort.
The assailant, 19-year-old Geddy Kramer, wounded six people including Sparkman before killing himself.
