U.S Senate Candidates Debate For First Time

Updated: Wed 11:41 PM, Oct 17, 2012

Candidates for the U.S. Senate seat debated for the first and only time Wednesday night.

Incumbent Senator Bill Nelson took on challenger Connie Mack in a debate seen on WCTV. Both took jabs at each other while touting their own records. One of the more talked about issues was health care for Floridians.

"I think most people recognize that Obamacare must be repealed," said Mack. "This is a law by the way that was in this bipartisanship that Senator Nelson keeps talking about not one Republican supported it."

"What about the 3.5 million people in Florida that do not have health insurance?" asked Senator Nelson. "We want to get them into the health insurance system."

The debate was held at Nova Southeastern University.
