Ceremonies in Tallahassee, and surrounding areas honor those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.

Leon County & Florida State University Ceremony

WHEN: Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11 a.m.
WHERE: Florida State University School of Law, 425 W. Jefferson St.

The Florida State University College of Law will host this memorial program sponsored by the Tallahassee office of the Holland & Knight law firm and Leon County. The program is affiliated with the I Will 9/11 Day Movement, which encourages people to perform a good deed on Sept. 11. The ceremony will recognize the community service spirit unique to Leon County, and also highlight several recent service projects completed by Leon County and community partners to remember September 11 through service.

Tallahassee Ceremony

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. on September 11, 2013
WHERE: TFD Fire Station 1, located at 327 N. Adams Street

The Tallahassee Fire Department along with the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Leon County EMS will host a September 11th Memorial Ceremony at TFD Fire Station 1, located at 327 N. Adams Street at 8:30 a.m. on September 11, 2013. An artifact steel beam from the World Trade Center, as well as the names of those who died will be on display.

Parking for the event will be available at Envision Credit Union parking lot located across from Fire Station 1 and can be accessed off of Carolina Street. Please park in the "additional parking" area located closest to Virginia Street and Adams Street.

Veteran Events In Tallahassee & Lincoln High School Ceremony

WHEN: 8:45 a.m. September 11, 2013
WHERE: Lincoln High School main flag pole

Lincoln High School's Naval JROTC will be holding a brief Ceremony Wednesday Morning September 11 at the Flag pole in front of the main entrance, vehicles need to be in the parking lot no later than 8:25 for the 8:45 AM Ceremony.

Please attend this Ceremony reminding us of the nearly 3,000 Americans who died on the morning of September 11, 2001, in the opening Battle of the Global War on Terrorism.

City Of Valdosta Ceremony

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 8:45 a.m.
WHERE: Valdosta Fire Station #1, 106 S. Oak Street

The City of Valdosta will host a 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 8:45 a.m., at Valdosta Fire Station #1, located at 106 S. Oak Street. Valdosta Fire Chief J.D. Rice will preside over the ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives that day 12 years ago and in honor of the continued efforts of public safety professionals.

Wakulla County Ceremony

WHEN: 8:46 a.m. September 11, 2013
WHERE: WCSO parking area, 15 Oak Street

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office will host the 12th Annual 9/11 Memorial Service at the WCSO parking area at 15 Oak Street in Crawfordville. The public is invited to attend. The ceremony will begin at 8:46 a.m., the time the first terrorist aircraft attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. All emergency first responders will be honored.

Thomas University Ceremony

WHEN: 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11
WHERE: Smith-Bonvillian Hall at Thomas University

Thomas University will observe this day and honor those who lost their lives during a remembrance ceremony at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in front of Smith-Bonvillian Hall on the Main Campus.
