Severe Weather Causes Multiple Power Outages in Our Area

There have been reports of power outages in our area due to the severe weather we have been experiencing this afternoon and evening.

For up to date reports, please visit:

GRACEVILLE – West Florida Electric Cooperative members are still experiencing many widespread and scattered power outages.

A tree is across a transmission line feeding the Chipley substation.

Approximately 2,200 people are being impacted by this outage. Crews from PowerSouth Energy Cooperative (our generation & transmission cooperative) are working to repair the damage at this time.

WFEC has been experiencing problems with its phone system, but it is now fully operational. Our automated system has a total of 16 incoming lines, but there are approximately 5,000 members currently without power.

If you call WFEC and receive a busy signal, that means all those lines are in use. Please call (800) 342-7400 back to report your outage.

West Florida Electric line crews are still working to restore all outages at this time. WFEC would like to thank all of its members for their patience and cooperation throughout restoration efforts.
