Bainbridge, Georgia--September 24, 2012
Social media helped local investigators solve a burglary in just a matter of hours.
On Friday, Sept. 21 around 1:00 a.m. Sammy's Bait and Tackle in Bainbridge was burglarized.
Investigators with Bainbridge Public Safety then posted the store's surveillance video on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
Hours later, a local Sheriff's Deputy saw the video online and recognized the suspect from a car he had pulled over the night before.

"He's wearing the same clothing, same shirt, same hat on backwards, and he calls me and says, I think this is your guy," Robert Humphrey, a criminal investigator with Bainbridge Public Safety. "So ultimately, I went and viewed the car cam at the sheriff's office, developed information from that, which connected him to the burglary."
When authorities arrived at the home of 17 year-old John Daniels, they found items that had been reported stolen from Sammy's Bait and Tackle.
Daniels was arrested and charged with burglary.
