Tallahassee, FL - The St. Patrick's Day celebration started off with a parade up College Avenue. "Oh it's going wonderful, this is my 22ND one here in Tallahassee, so I've really pleased even though it's up hill I still can do it," said Jack Madden, Founder of the parade.

The parade featured many different groups in town from the Leon High School ROTC to the Tallahassee Tribal Bellydance Troupe.

"It's a great free event that you can come out and bring your kids and just enjoy spring in Tallahassee," said Allison Clow.

After the parade it was time for the festival on the green space at Kleman Plaza. The food, music and beer all had a recurring theme, the color green. The drink of choice for some was, "Irish Car Bomb all the time. It's Bailey's, Irish whiskey, and drop it into a Guinness and jug it." said James Wrinkle

For Phyllis and Walt Hendry of Perry who have been to St. Patrick's Day festivals in Savannah, Jacksonville and St. Augustine to name a few. They said coming to the Tallahassee St.Patrick's Day Festival was part of a tradition of attending a Irish Festival in a different city each year. They said they like to go to the different cities to keep in touch with their deep cultural roots." Scottish heritage, I'm Irish heritage, we enjoy it and love the music," said Phyllis Hendry.
