Tallahassee increased its population by tens of thousands today.
That's because both Florida State and FAMU held move-in days. Students moved everything from bags to televisions. Classes for both schools begin next week.
Traffic was backed up near many parts of campus. With temperatures soaring into the upper 90's, FSU police want people to be safe when moving their kids in.
"It's really important to pay attention to hydration," said FSUPD officer Jim Russell. "Make sure you take breaks. Get in the shade. Drink water. We find that for move-in, for us, the majority of our calls aren't law enforcement calls. They're medical calls."
