Press Release: Monster Jam

MONSTER JAM and the Tallahassee Fire Department are proud to announce the STUFF THE TRUCK campaign was a monstrous success! In spite of the inclement weather, hundreds of Tallahassee residents showed their hearts by donating more than 250 stuffed animals to the Tallahassee Fire Department.

According to Public Information Officer, Lieutenant Mike Bellamy, “The recent Stuff the Truck event with MONSTER JAM was a huge success for the Tallahassee Fire Department. We received over 250 stuffed animals from citizens in and around our community. We will distribute the stuffed animals at emergency incidents throughout the City of Tallahassee and Leon County to children who are negatively impacted. Our hope is that we can positively influence the ability of a child to cope with tragedy and loss.”

MONSTER JAM’s Jeremy Slifko, driver of Backdraft, co-hosted the STUFF THE TRUCK event Friday, March 22, at the Tallahassee Leon County Civic Center. Slifko was humbled by the generosity of Tallahassee residents and commented, “What’s so cool about my truck being as unique as it is [with the Fire Engine Design] is that I have a special connection with people, especially our first responders. It’s an honor being able to give back to those heroes with the knowledge that every day they put their lives on the line for the safety of their community. I’d like to give a big thank you to the Tallahassee Fire Department for the warm welcome with Monster Jam. It was truly a great experience to be involved in the “Stuff the Truck” event at the Leon County Civic Center.”

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam and Tallahassee Fire Department Release

Tallahassee, FL – In a campaign to provide Tallahassee’s children with comfort during a time of crises, Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam and Tallahassee Fire Department are hosting STUFF THE TRUCK, a donation effort to receive as many small stuffed animals as possible in one day, Friday, February 22, at the Tallahassee Leon County Civic Center.

The Tallahassee Fire Department responds to over 20,000 incidents annually. As a result, a large number of those emergency calls have an emotional impact on a child. The Tallahassee Fire Department has made it a long standing practice to help cheer up children at emergency scenes by donating a small stuffed animal. The stuffed animals are donated to the Tallahassee Fire Department from various organizations. Firefighters keep the stuffed animals on all of the fire trucks stationed throughout the City of Tallahassee and Leon County.

Our goal is to replenish their supplies receiving a huge number of new, small stuffed animals that can ride along with the fire fighters to have for children when they are called. Hopefully this small gesture will bring some solace to a child when dealing with the tragedy of a house fire or other first response needs. We ask that the tag remain on the toy.

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam will have on site at the TLCCC Monster Truck BACKDAFT and the driver for a meet and greet and photo opportunity; along with a TFD’s fire engine truck to accept donations Friday, February 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monster Jam will provide two tickets per household to the Friday night event for each donation, whether it be one or several items. Please note donations will be accepted at the box office all the way until show time at 7pm.
Monster Jam Event Schedule:
