Suwannee, FL - A Suwannee County man is behind bars after stabbing his own mother to death. Investigators say 44-year old Kenneth Hooker of Live Oak admitted to the murder. Hooker said they had been arguing Monday night.
The reason he stabbed her was because he just wanted her to listen to him. But after the stabbing he didn't call 9-1-1. It's unclear if emergency responders could have saved her if he had.
Rose Lawson died as a result of a single knife wound to her chest.
Hooker is in the Suwannee County jail. He's charged with second degree murder.
